Swoope Virginia is a beautiful farmland area in the Shenandoah Valley. For about 3 years I took a plein air painting class and discovered this area. After class I would roam the area looking for painting motifs. This mammoth oak tree with cows in the shade was a perfect place to paint atmospheric effects with the Buffalo Gap in the background.
